MARIVMICCOLL The project „Investigation of priority hazardous substances in the Maros River: establishment of a microbial culture collection for bioaugmentation purposes” is implemented under the Hungary-Romania Cross-Border Co-operation Programme ( and is part- financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund and the Republic of Hungary and Romania. The programme aims to bring the different actors – people, economic actors and communities – closer to each other, in order to better exploit opportunities offered by the joint development of the border area. **** A „Kiemelten veszélyes anyagok vizsgálata a Maros folyóban: mikroba-törzsgyűjtemény létrehozása bioaugmen- tációs célokra” című projekt a Magyarország-Románia Határon Átnyúló Együttműködési Program keretében valósul meg ( az Európai Unió támogatásával, az Európai Regionális Fejlesztési Alap valamint a Magyar Köztársaság és Románia társfinanszírozásával. The aim of this project is to investigate the quality of the water of the Maros River at both side of the border at ten sampling places. First of all the amount of the so called priority pollutants (correspondingly to the new EU Water Framework Directive) will be determined in the surface part of the water body. We will explore the tendencies how the abundance of these important compounds and elements depends on the actual season (spring, summer, autumn, winter) within a year. We will investigate the bacterial and fungal diversity of the river, how it changes in time and how diverse is the species ratio of that type of organisms which are able to degrade or detoxify these pollutants. The genotoxicity of water samples will also be observed with modern methods. The important R+D character of the project is that the best pollutant-degrading microbes will be isolated, characterized and a special pollutant-degrading strain collection will be established. With the use of the strains deposited in this collection, bioremediation products and technologies could be developed in the future. In addition to the compounds presented on the list of EU Water Framework Directive regarding to the priority pollutants in surface waters, that pollutants will also be measured which are problematic in the region in the water of Maros. Scopul acestui proiect este de a investiga calitatea apelor râului Mureş, de ambele părţi ale frontierei, în zece locaţii de prelevare a probelor. În primul rând va fi determinată cantitatea de așa numiți poluanţi principali (corespunzător la noua Directivă-Cadru privind Apa a UE) la suprafata corpului de apă. Vom urmării modul în care acumularea acestor compuşi este influențată de anotimp (primavara, vara, toamna, iarna) pe parcursul unui an. Vom investiga diversitatea bacteriană şi fungică a râului, tendința ei de modificare în timp şi raportul între speciile de microorganisme responsabile de degradare sau detoxifierea acestor poluanţi. De asemenea, genotoxicitatea probelor de apă va fi determinată cu metode moderne. Caracterul de cercetare – dezvoltare al proiectului nostru constă în faptul că cele mai bune microorganisme degradatoare de poluanți vor fi izolate și caracterizate, fiind creată o colecție de tulpini ale acestor microorganisme. Prin utilizarea acestor tulpini, ar putea fi dezvoltate în viitor produse şi tehnologii de bioaugmentare şi bioremediere. Vor fi determinați în apele râului Mureș, atât compusii prezentați pe lista Directivei Cadru privind Apa a UE ca fiind poluanţii principali în apele de suprafaţă, cât și poluanții specifici regiunii. A projekt célja a Maros folyó vízminőségének a határ mindkét oldalán, tíz mintavételi helyen töténő vizsgálata. Mindenekelőtt az új EU Víz Keretirányelv alapján kiemelten veszélyesnek minősülő szennyező-anyagok mennyisége kerül meghatározásra a víztest felszíni részében. Tanulmányozzuk, hogy ezeknek a fontos vegyületeknek és elemeknek a jelenléte egy éven belül hogyan függ az aktuális évszaktól (tavasz, nyár, ősz, tél). Megvizsgáljuk a folyóban a baktériumok és gombák diverzitását, annak időbeli változását, és azoknak a fajoknak az előfordulási arányát, amelyek képesek a kiemelten veszélyes szennyezőanyagok lebontására vagy detoxifikálá- sára. Modern módszerekkel felmérjük a vízminták genotoxicitását is. A projekt fontos K+F karaktere, hogy a legjobb szennyezőanyag-lebontó mikrobákat izoláljuk, jellemezzük és létrehozunk egy speciális, szennyezőanyag-lebontó mikrobákat tartalmazó törzsgyűjteményt. Az ebben a gyűjteményben elhelyezett törzsek felhasználásával a jövőben lehetőség nyílik bioremediációs termékek és technológiák kifejlesztésére. Az EU Víz Keretirányelv listáján szereplő kiemelten veszélyes szennyező-anyagok mellett sor kerül olyan szennyezőanyagok mérésére is, melyek jelenléte a Maros vizében problémákat jelent a régióban.
