The history of the Dohány utca building started in The National Development Plan’s - Human Resources Development - Operational Programme (NDP - HRDOP / NTF – HEFOP) supported the investment. In 2008 the school building was finished. The first classes started in 2009.

Terézvárosi Kereskedelmi Szakközépiskola és Szakiskola (Terézvárosi Secondary School of Commerce) is the coordinator institution of the contributors of 12 educational institutions. The main profiles of the partner schools are commerce, economy, catering and postal services. The training centre offers vocational trainings primarily for the member schools but students from the region are also welcomed. The needs of all members are considered for creating the training-offers.

This is a very new and modern building. It has 3,049 m 2 space. There are about 30 classrooms on 4 floors. The classrooms simulate real-life working conditions.

You can find about 100 PCs. There are laptops in some classrooms, too. WiFi connection is available everywhere. E-service centre and call-centre facilities are also provided. Recreational facilities, such as gyms can also be visited. Students and teachers can use a well-equipped library, too.

About 700 students learn in our school. The centre offers vocational trainings for students having the Matura exam and also for those who do not. The offer of vocational trainings meets the need of our students and also the region’s labour-force need. You can learn foreign languages: English, German and French.

There are 2 periods: From 7:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. they are the ‘morning students’. And from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. they are the ‘afternoon students’. Students also have practical classes at companies. It takes days a week, depending on the training requirements.

The first lesson starts at 7:45. Each lesson takes 45 minutes. It’s sooo early! Therefore everybody would like to sleep

Our first break starts at 8:30. It’s only 10 minutes long. So, it’s not enough for much. We have to find the classrooms, have a snack or just relax a bit. We have one 15-minute brake at 9:40 when we also have time to organise administrative duties at the reception.

There are LCD displays in every corridor. You can read all the important and latest information there. If you see our timetable, you will be lost in it. It looks like this:

In the breaks we can go to the Buffet, where we can eat, chat, play games or watch TV.

There is silence in the corridors during a lesson…

But of course, there is hard work at the lessons

The last lesson ends at 3 p.m. The students go out of school, and after this day, another one starts and we do the same…
