9 Licenc szükségletek A szerver összes CPU-ját licencelni kell.
A Datacenter és a Standard edition is 2 processzornyi licencet tartalmaz. 2 processzornál nagyobb gépek esetén további licencek kellenek. Példa: 1 CPU Szerver Egy licencre van szükség Max. 2 CPU-ig biztosít jogot. Példa: 4 CPU Szerver Két licencre van szükség. Mindegyik licenc egyenként 2 CPU-t fed le, összesen 4 CPU-ig biztosítja a fedettséget.

Szükség szerint további Standard licencek halmozhatók a virtuális gépek / lefedett processzorok számának növelése érdekében. Mindig a legrosszabb esetre kell számolni a licenceket A legrosszabb esetet az ügyfél maga határozza meg Például három fizikai szerver esetén egy fizikai szerver kiesésével számolunk, a maradék kettőnek kell minden virtuális gépet kiszolgálnia A legrosszabb nem azt jelenti feltétlenül, hogy minden virtuális gépnek egyetlen fizikai szerveren kell futnia Azt viszont nem lehet tudni, hogy melyik hardver fog kiesni, ezért ilyen esetben minden egyes szerverre megfelelő számú licenc szükséges SAN/Storage
