Paptava Two hundred years ago Debrecen head a natural lake called Pap-tava. In the 19th century the bed of the lake was filled up. It was in the town center on the spot of Déri museum.

Vekeri pond This pond is a ten minute drive from Debrecen. The surface of the water is twelve hectare. We can enjoy the view of Erdőspuszta from the look-out tower. The flora and fauna is under protection.

Fancsika ponds It is a chain of ponds but in our days there is little water in them. In summer people go there fishing and in winter when it is cold we can go ice-skating there.

Pond of Látókép It is a Y-shaped water- basin. Because of the trousers-form it is called „Gatya” pond. It is ideal for catching fishes.

History The name is froms the Iron Age. Some time ago the Tisza was 1419 km long. In 1846, István Széchenyi organize the regulation of Tisza. The result was of the regulation, the Tisza was 962 km long.

Geography The Tisza at Hungary was 597 km long. It’s estuary was in Serbia, near Titel. Influents at Hungary: Sajó, Bodrog, Túr, Szamos, Kraszna, Zagyva, Kőrös, Maros

Wildlife Animals: Stork, eagle, kánya, otter, shrew, bat, heron, cormorant, falcon Plants: tőzike, tiszavirág, willow, poplar, sulyom, agárkosbor, nyílfű

Lake Tisza The Lake Tisza was the second biggest lake at Hungary. It’s at southeastern edge of Heves county, next to Hajdú-Bihar, Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén and Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok counties. In Poroszló, there is the Lake Tisza Ecocentre. From 1999 it’s in the World Heritage.

Frog-Pond (Békás-tó ) In the centre of the Big Forest there is the Frog Pond. There are playgrounds, walking paths and rest areas around the lake. It is an artificial lake. It got its name after the frogs which live in the lake. There is a bridge over the lake. There are many water lilies and orises in the lake. From these beautiful flowers the lake is more wonderful.

Tisza Tisza is the longest tributary of the Danube. It is one of the most important rivers of central Europe. It comes off from the Black Tisza and the White Tisza. It flows through Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Ukraine and Serbia.
